stoodio. started long before the shop itself…
Back in the dreaded 2021 lockdown, my bestie Amber and I decided to revamp an empty garage and turn it into a vintage pop-up store. Once lockdown lifted, Ugly Mugs was born!
What started as a side project with my pal quickly turned into a full-blown obsession, sourcing pieces, finding value in overlooked clothing, and creating spaces people actually wanted to spend time in. (Our famous sofa-and-beer-fridge combo never disappointed, something I’ve carried on in our current set up.)
Over the years, I hosted popups around Edinburgh and laterally launched ‘stoodio.’ in July 2023! Amber moved to Australia and is now becoming a mummy (!!), while my own vintage journey kept growing, from pop-ups and a wee shop into a bigger space in the heart of Edinburgh.
Today, stoodio focuses on handpicked vintage from across eras, especially 90s and early 2000s culture, with collections sourced globally, particularly from Italy and France.

stoodio is a curated vintage store rooted in self expression, modern nostalgia, and well-priced high-end pieces. Tucked away on cobbled Thistle Street in Edinburgh, the space has become known as a hidden gem, stocking some of the ‘coolest’ vintage clothing from all your different ‘cores’, trends & eras, something for everyone.
From italian slip dresses, your next fave baby tee, leather jackets to low-waisted jeans, stoodio is about building a wardrobe that feels collected, not constructed. The most common phrase heard in-store is: “that’s cool.”

We do the groundwork, sourcing value in pieces that might otherwise be overlooked or discarded, then bring them back into focus. We prioritise quality and longevity, giving existing garments a second life rather than contributing to new production.

- deadstock warehouses (unworn vintage from past decades)

- reclaimed and rescued garments
- high-quality clothing diverted from waste and given a second life
